My Story
My name is Nakisa, and I’m from California. I’ve been a professional hairstylist for over 25 years and run a small beauty salon. Alongside my career, I’ve always had a deep passion for baking.
Since childhood, I would bake traditional sweets for Nowruz in my parents’ home, and that love has stayed with me ever since. Even after immigrating to the U.S., I continued baking for family gatherings and special occasions.
About six years ago, I decided to bake the desserts for my cousin’s wedding instead of ordering from outside. I prepared five different pastries for 180 guests, and that experience became a turning point in my journey.
Over the years, I often made Kolompeh—a traditional Persian date pastry—for my salon clients, serving it with tea. Their encouragement and compliments planted the idea that this passion could become more than a hobby.
During the pandemic, I spent much of my time baking bread and sweets. Friends and family supported me even more, especially after I made a Persian-style cake with rosewater and pistachios for my sister-in-law’s birthday, which was very well received. In August 2020, I baked for my brother’s wedding, and several guests even offered collaboration and investment opportunities.
After completing an LNA course and receiving encouragement from my mentor, I gained the confidence to take a serious step forward: sharing authentic, wholesome Kermani pastries with a wider audience. That’s when I launched my Instagram page, Sweet Taste of Persia, where I continue this journey with love and dedication.

My mission is to introduce authentic, healthy, and traditional Persian sweets to the world.

For me, Kolompeh is more than just a pastry—it’s part of our history, culture, and identity. With love and hope, I’ve started this path to bring the authentic taste of Iran to tables around the world, proving that sweets can be both wholesome and traditional.
